Welcome to Bumblebee Soccer . . .
As Bumblebee Soccer is the first experience many families have with youth soccer, we thought
it would be helpful to provide you with some additional information about the program.
We plan to run two forty-five minute sessions, starting at 9:00 and 10:00 each Saturday morning,
for seven consecutive weeks, starting September 10th. Experienced teen coaches will run each session,
but with several young players at each practice, it would be very helpful to have parents assist in
the activities. Please let me know if you are interested. Even if you don't sign up now - feel
free to join us on the field during the sessions.
Recognizing that Bumblebee players are new to the concept of soccer, the players will spend the
majority of their time at each session with a ball, building comfort and confidence. We plan
to introduce the players to basic principles such as dribbling, kicking and passing. Each
session will include a brief warm-up activity, followed by a fun activity to give the players
many opportunities to practice their foot skills, and end with a game.
Other things you may want to keep in mind . . .
- We play on Saturdays only - no week day practices;
- Players are not assigned to teams and they are invited to participate in either session. Each week pick the session most convenient for you;
- Bumblebee shirts are handed out at the sessions on September 11th so plan to arrive fifteen minutes early;
- Your child should wear shin guards and bring a water bottle to the sessions; and
- If it rains, we do not play.
Should you have any questions, feel free to give Danielle Cerimelli
a call (685-8060). In the meantime, please let me know if you would be willing to help out on the field.
We look forward to hearing from you.
